👋 Who I am

I'm Missy Zipperer, a professional pet sitter working out of Seabrook, Texas (Houston Bay area). I run MissPetSit — personalized in-home dog walking, pet sitting, and house sitting for clients across Seabrook, League City, and the surrounding Bay area.

Over the years I've cared for hundreds of dogs across every size, breed, and temperament you can imagine — from anxious puppies to grumpy seniors, from heat-sensitive Frenchies to Texas-tough rescue mixes. I've learned what really matters about owning a dog in this climate, and I built this site to share that knowledge with the rest of the country.

🛠️ Why I built Pet Owner Toolkit

Most online dog-care content is written by content marketers who have never set foot in a Houston August. The "leave your dog home alone for 8 hours" advice you see on the big pet sites? That math falls apart in Texas. The "$1,200/year average dog cost" estimates? Way off for real Gulf Coast vet bills.

I started building these calculators because I kept giving the same advice to my own clients — what to feed, how long to leave a dog alone in summer, what a sitter actually costs, which breeds thrive here, what to budget for. The tools on this site are the calculators I wish existed when I started.

Everything is free. No signup. No selling your data. Just honest tools and honest writing from someone who actually does this work.
